How to Lead Yourself
I had a great chat with Stedman Graham on the importance of identity leadership.
“Identity leadership is self-leadership, and it is based on the philosophy that if you can’t lead yourself, you can’t lead anyone else.”
I had a great chat with educator, author, businessman, and public speaker Stedman Graham. Many people may have heard of Stedman as the long-time partner of Oprah Winfrey, but he’s much more than that as we discuss in the episode today. In this episode we discuss Stedman’s groundbreaking work on identity leadership, which is based on the philosophy that if you can’t lead yourself you can’t lead anyone else. According to Stedman, successful people know who they are, are clear what matters to them, and create value for themselves and others. Stedman’s life dramatically changes when he began centering all that he does around his own talents, strengths, and passions. As you’ll see in this episode, we both share a love of self-actualization. I hope I also was able to shine a light on Stedman as a human, and that you get to know him a little bit better as well. Enjoy!
