Friends,
Today I’m birthing something I’ve been cooking up for a while! For eleven years, The Psychology Podcast was my home. 478 episodes, more than 30 million downloads, and some of the best conversations of my life. Over the past year it grew into something new, and today it launches: the Human Potential Lab.
The show lives at the frontier of neuroscience, consciousness and technology. I sit down with the scientists and philosophers whose work is deciding what we could become, and we try to sort what’s real from what’s overhyped.
We’re launching with three episodes:
What Is It Like to Be an AI? with Cameron Berg
Are the AI systems we’re building just tools, or the beginnings of something more? Cameron explains why nobody yet knows, and tells the story of a very strange conversation with an AI called Maya.

Where Does Genius Come From? with Michael Levin
Michael and I get into the hidden minds of cells, the origins of genius and inspiration, and the possibility that intelligence isn’t something we simply “make.”

The Person You Become with L.A. Paul
Laurie and I talk about transformative experience, and why some of life’s biggest decisions can’t be understood until you’ve lived them.

Listen wherever you get podcasts (same feed, new name), or find on YouTube, Apple or Spotify.
New episodes come out every other Wednesday. And I’d be so grateful if you left a review on Apple Podcasts (scroll down to “Write a Review”) or shared an episode with one person who’d love it. That’s how shows like this grow.
And of course, let me know what you think of the discussions!
With gratitude,
Scott
