Erich Fromm's "The Art of Loving" resonated and helped me get conscientious objector draft status in the 1970s. 50 years later I read your "Transcend" and found myself in there as well. I told someone recently that in terms of psychological knowledge and insight I might need for a course I'm teaching, that book covers all the basics. Comprehensive, deep enough and all I need. So you, to me, are a star. I hope to take one of your online courses at some point.

Amen , I have been thinking this way , it floors me how nasty people win,get their way, and have no repercussions. I suppose that's why many big businesses, unions are so toxic. There is always a pay off for someone.

From an Evolutionary Biology perspective- us humans are hardwired to survive, procreate and care for offspring . Everything else is kind of a crapshoot, where variation , an adaptation and cultural inheritance call the shots.
One can rarely predict what beliefs, attitudes and behaviors will win out at different points in history.
At least we have the freedom to hate what we disapprove of, or deem dangerous in both the short run.
